Marine biologists are planning the rescue of around 270 whales stranded on a sandbar off the remote west coast of Tasmania Nic Deka, a regional manager for Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service, said that stranded whale incidences do occur, even ones of this size, but the island has not dealt with any “for at least 10 years.”
